I think it's almost as funny as 3 even if the plot isn't hilariously complicated anymore. I never got the criticism that it was weird it was about cowboys. Going back 100 years is s logical next step after 30 years back, going to an alternate present, going thirty years forward, and going to the events of the first film again.

Jun 10, 2019 · When Marty goes back in time using the DeLorean Doc leaves him this creates a situation where Marty has come in the same DeLorean that is currently sitting in the mine in 1885. I've always wondered what Doc did with the gasoline that was in the DeLorean sitting in the mine.
At the end of part 2/ beginning of part 3 the Delorian is struck by lightning while hovering in midair which causes it to jump to 1885, but it has been established that it is necessary to reach 88mph to do a time jump (the whole climax of part 1 was to get the Delorian to reach 88 mph and arrive at the exact time for it to recieve the energy of the lightning strike). Aug 15, 2022 · When Marty and Doc went back to 1955 and burned the almanac, they destroyed that timeline, they didn't create a third one. Thus, when Marty goes back to 1885 he erases the timeline where Doc dies. This has always been BTTF rules from the beginning.

Sierra #3 was only used for the scenes that took place in 1885 (minus the wreck, that was a scale model) The time train was completely built from scratch but was based on dimensions of Sierra #3 (particularly the wheel arrangement).
