Translate text. On your computer, open Google Translate. At the top of the screen, select the languages to translate. From: Choose a language or select Detect language . To: Select the language that you want the translation in. In the text box on the left, enter the text you want to translate. Choose what you want to do:

On your Android phone or tablet, open the Translate app . Tap Menu Settings . Pick a setting. For example: To automatically speak translated text: Tap Speech input. Then, turn on Speak output. To translate offensive words: Tap Speech input. Then, turn off Block offensive words. To choose from available dialects: Tap Region.
Open the Translate app . At the bottom, select the language you want to download. Next to the language, tap Download . If it’s not there, the language can’t be downloaded. If it asks you to download the language file, tap Download. Tip: In the Translate app, your saved languages show up as Downloaded .
Click the language to translate from. Each language has different keyboards. At the bottom left of the white text box, click the Down arrow . Click the keyboard you want to use. The keyboard or drawing area shows below the white text box. Use the keyboard to type or draw what you want to translate. Note: To hide the keyboard, click Close .
