The M. Kandiah Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (MK FMHS) was established on 16th November 2009. It aspires to be the preferred center of education and research for medical and health sciences.

The Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FMHS) has conducted various research activities from bench to bedside with a glocal outlook - benefiting and transforming the health and wellness of local communities and impacting the global communities in various biomedical areas.
The integrated medical program covers the cardiovascular system, digestive system and others, in which incorporates all the relevant basic medical sciences and clinical disciplines. The curriculum emphasizes on student-centered learning with early identification of clinical experience.
The Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FMHS) at Universiti Malaysia Sarawak started registering its pioneer batch of Medical students in 1995 followed by the students in the Nursing programme in 1998.
