21.10 Izod Impact. Izod impact measures energy required to break a specimen by striking a specific size bar with a pendulum. Izod normally refers to a notched specimen impact. However, in some circumstances, unnotched specimens are tested. The data sheet will note that it is an unnotched bar or unnotched Izod.
