Aug 19, 2024 · Sydney Metro 1 extension has opened between Chatswood and Sydenham and is the first new train line in the city centre since the Bondi Junction line opened. The stock has extra Indian Built driverless trains with a new depot at Sydenham. The Bankstown line will shut in a few weeks time for conversion to Metro standards. The line has been renumbered M1 and renamed the Northwest and Bankstown line.
