Sep 27, 2023 · Rugby became a force to reckon with in the school polo world, and we won many tournaments and inter school matches. We had wonderful polo tours to Jamaica, Argentina, South Africa. Spain, Ireland, great Wednesday chukka evenings and a wonderful mix of boys and girls and ages to make up our teams.

Rugby School is a public school (English fee-charging boarding school for pupils aged 13–18) in Rugby, Warwickshire, England. [ 1 ] Founded in 1567 as a free grammar school for local boys, it is one of the oldest independent schools in Britain. [ 2 ]
A brief history of Rugby School. At least two centuries of Rugby’s history are written in the stones and other monuments to tradition that stand around the School Close, where in 1823, local lad William Webb Ellis, with a fine disregard for the rules of football, took the ball in his arms and ran with it, originating the game of rugby football.
