Jolie plays CIA operative Evelyn Salt, who is accused of being a Russian sleeper agent and goes on the run to try to clear her name.
Synopsis. Evelyn Salt (Angelina Jolie) is tortured in a prison in North Korea on suspicion of being a U.S. spy. Her boyfriend, Arachnologist Mike Krause (August Diehl), generates so much publicity about Salt's imprisonment that the CIA is forced to arrange a prisoner exchange despite the agency's policy against it.

Jul 21, 2010 · “Salt” is a damn fine thriller. It does all the things I can’t stand in bad movies, and does them in a good one. It’s like a rebuke to all the lousy action movie directors who’ve been banging pots and pans together in our skulls. It winds your clock tight and the alarm doesn’t go off for 100 minutes.
