Jan 15, 2022 · It's fun hearing recognizable voices in small roles; the actor for Shinji from Neon Genesis Evangelion showed up as a minor character in Plastic Little, for example. Perfect Blue has a decent English dub since it removes a line from the Japanese version at the end of the movie that makes absolutely no sense.

Feb 26, 2022 · Interesting note: my personal Ghibli favorite is Howl's Moving Castle but it wasn't that popular in Japan (like Spirited Away or Princess Mononoke, etc.). And I didn't understand for a long time until a Japanese friend explained that they didn't get really great voice actors for the Japanese version. And so it's a totally different movie.

Jschultz220. ADMIN MOD. Today I rewatched Spirited Away for the first time since I was a child. Recommendation. First off, holy shit that was an amazing experience. I went into it know it would be good, but I wasn't expecting it to be such a masterpiece. It hasn't left my head once for the entire day.

Feb 24, 2017 · Ghibli dubs are always good, and Spirited Away is far from being an exception. I think Miyazaki himself even recommends watching his movies in your own language. Either way really. The subs and dubs for all the Miyazaki films I've seen have been great. The dub is very good so I'd just watch that.
