Feb 29, 2024 · An automated Windows 11 update seems to have been the cause of this, installing Windows Spotlight with no real notice given. Notification simply instructed to restart laptop to install updates, then it changed the desktop background with no explanation, and also seems to have installed unwanted widgets (weather and financial markets) on my 'lock screen'!

However, despite waiting for 24 hours, I have only been seeing the same standard Windows 11 wallpaper, which is not what I had hoped for. This is the experience i been getting lately :-
