May 26, 2017 · Hi Marian, The support for Windows Live Messenger has been discontinued by Microsoft. This program stopped working last March 15, 2013. Sep 6, 2015 · I noticed on Windows 10 that when you click on "All Apps" on the Start Menu, and scroll down to "Windows Live", Windows Live Messenger is automatically installed on Windows 10. However, when I try to sign in, it says that there was a problem signing in. Does this mean that Messenger has made its way back, or is it still discontinued? Thanks!

As for the linking of your Skype ID and Microsoft account, you can check this article on Skype Support. Also, you may check this thread containing our FAQ's regarding Skype.
