Sep 2, 2024 · For over fifty years, Penangites have been descending on a large patch of land a few kilometres inland from George Town to exercise, walk, play, socialise and swim. Officially known as ‘City Park’ or ‘Municipal Park’, most people still refer to it as Penang Youth Park.
Penang Youth Park is a free park near the Botanical Gardens with a kids play park, a skate park, a swimming pool, and a café. You can also spot macaque monkeys, monitor lizards, tropical birds, and dusky leaf monkeys in the park's natural surroundings.
Previously known as Youth Park, the Penang Municipal Park is a nice and vibrant space for your little ones to run around at. This sprawling park has a water park (with a pool that's great for refreshing swims on a hot day!), a children's playground (with swing sets and slides), jungle gym, a street art park, and even a skating rink!

May 5, 2019 · The Youth Park never stopped growing with gyms (both indoors and outdoors), a world-class stage, art murals, swimming pools, the first weekly aerobic running in the country (organised by the Penang Comets Athletics Club, of which I was the President), baseball games, concerts, night runs, nature studies, mountain biking and many others.
