Caption. Tu-114 Cleat passenger plane. The first Soviet two-deck airbus on 224 passengers. In total 32 planes have been constructed. Passenger transportations have begun on April, 24th, 1961 on airline Moscow-Khabarovsk. On airlines were maintained till 1970. In October, 1976 plane Tu-114 has made last passenger flight from Khabarovsk to Moscow.
The Tu-114 was neither slow nor that old. in fact, it was the fastest turbo-prop airliner ever built, it's cruising speed being some 880 km/h which is in the same class as Boeing's early 707 (897 km/h). btw, both aircraft share the same wing sweep, and the turboprops made the soviet airliner much more economical ;-)

Deputy Aeroflot general director Lev Koshlyakov said Tuesday that the airline decided to stick with the hammer and sickle because it couldn't come up with a better logo.

Go to the mediterranean once a year by plane. In east Germany you as the average Joe we're very lucky to go domestic to the baltic coast by train.
Apr 15, 2007 · Great plane, and one of the most greatest airlines! You will find other photos of Tu-154 with the thrust reversers engaged before even one wheel touches the ground. Most aircraft have a system that locks the reverser if there is no pressure on the nose wheel. After the Lauda flight 004 crash, i think.
