Andrew Lewis was an Irish-born American surveyor, military officer and politician who fought in the French and Indian War and the American Revolutionary War. He was a colonel in the Virginia militia, a brigadier general in the Continental Army, and a founder of Liberty Hall (now Washington and Lee University).
