Nov 3, 2021 · It has been announced that Dave Humphries, known as ‘Magic Dave’, will be the Subs’ permanent drummer on their forthcoming scheduled tours after having made his debut for the band in the late afternoon on the 1st November 2021 at the Sinner’s Day Festival in Belgium.
In December 2022, the band announced drummer Dave Humphries had left the band. European and UK tours planned for 2023 were advertised as being the "final full" tours by the U.K. Subs. The band added: "Rest assured - the band will then continue to play Festivals and the occasional mini weekend tour in various countries as and when". [ 25 ]

Dave Humpherys terrorized his local Magic scene with his prowess on the $1,000 tournament circuit long before there was a Pro Tour. He was invited to the very first Pro Tour on the basis of his win at the Ice Age Prerelease tournament in Toronto earlier that year.

Dave Humphries was born in August 1944 in Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, England, UK. He was a writer and producer, known for Dempsey and Makepeace (1985), Quadrophenia (1979) and London's Burning (1988). He was married to Diana Mary Curtis. He died in 2001 in Penzance, Cornwall, England, UK.
Dave Humphries is the true British Invasion, who pours his heart and soul into everything he does. The San Diego music community is lucky to have him, and I for one can’t wait to hear what the sly devil has up his sleeve for his next project.
