To meet API SP/ILSAC GF-6A requirements from what I've seen all 5w20 and 5w30 are now syn-blend, and "conventional" has been semi-syn for years anyways, solvent refined stopped cutting it a long time ago and most oil since SN has had to be made with group II base oils.

I find it interesting that the Pennzoil site lists Pennzoil "Gold" (i.e. a synthetic blend available in 5W-20, 5W-30, and 10W-30) and Pennzoil "Synthetic Blend" meeting the dexos1 specification separately. I thought Pennzoil Gold 5W-30 was dexos-licensed, but there appears to be something more to the equation.

Fact is, oil for the most part is oil, generally none perform much better than others.(unless you compare synthetic to regular "dino" oil then you can use it longer, and it will give atleast somewhat better protection) Use what you like, or what you believe your vehicle is doing best with.
