Sensationalized would be more accurate, my big issue with Ryan Murphy's Dahmer is it feels like I'm watching the villains perspective version of a show like true detective rather than a show about actual events.
Oct 25, 2022 · It’s refreshing to see I am not alone in my thoughts on Murphy. I just think so much of his ideas are just fever Dream ideas with no real end goal. He loses sight of what he’s doing midway through. Even the ending of The Watcher, I won’t spoil it but that last episode just kinda threw me for a loop and made me dislike the show as a whole.

Every Ryan Murphy show is campy and ridiculous from the start. After it gets popular, people feel the need to justify it, so they form the idea that the show is some tightly-written, highly polished work. Then, when it continues being campy and ridiculous, they claim that the later seasons are worse than the earlier ones.

Jul 26, 2021 · Ryan’s Murphy’s (and his usual collaborators’) strengths are creating hooky premises, crafting memorable moments, and keeping a balancing act going between camp, social commentary, and soapy melodrama. But on the flip side, their writing of coherent plot points, character development, and story arcs is awful. So it all falls apart over time.
