Nov 15, 2023 · The dynamo wiring Fairlight do is very neat (read: internal), but the flip side is that it's not possible to change the side the light is mounted without basically rewiring the rear light. Could be a non issue, but was a minor frustration when I wanted to take it to Europe. Logged.

We were riding in a straggley group of maybe 10 just after dawn and some riders at the front were riding close to the centre line as some riders seem to like to do.

Mar 14, 2021 · I'd be surprised if it's not a steel lintel on a new build - I fitted a curtain rail by drilling the plasterboard and then (keeping the drill bit aligned) drilled into/through the steel lintel - then used a long "frame screw" (the things that come with their own plastic plug) by fitting the screw/plug in the hole and into the lintel - then removing the screw to fit the pole bracket and putting ...
Dec 29, 2019 · Re: Schmidt Edelux II. The Luxos U has a plastic main body and the bracket is electrically isolated from the gubbins, so using it as a connection wont work. The Edelux only has one spade terminal - the output for the rear light underneath. It’s buried down a deep hole which provides mechanical support for the plug.

Jun 20, 2013 · There is a pair of wheelnuts that hold the rear wheel in place and do nothing else. The Brompton derailleur is then held on by a second nut and plain washer on the drive side. The Shimano anti-rotation washers are too thick for any of the normal Brompton axles and they won’t snugly fit the Brompton dropout anyway.
Apr 3, 2024 · I have a Widek bring-bring bell on my tourer, chosen for its left-handed operation, but the brass construction gives a superior tone to the usual steel. It wasn't particularly expensive, which gives a high pleasingness to cost ratio. I quite like that enormous ding-dong one that Wowbagger has. If you can afford the space on the handlebars.
Aug 20, 2013 · On a high volume tire (tractor, truck) it could be lethal. I did fashion a piece of 1/8" ply into a protector for the rear mech, not sure if it was an advantage. Remember that BA count sports equipment as part of your 23Kg weight allowance so you are unlikely to have to pay extra for luggage, what with hand luggage coming on top.

A lot of my Bedfordshire rides typically average 5-7m per km, where as my Hertfordshire rides typically average 9-11m per km, and I can make it 15m per km with suitably designed routes.
