About. St. Patrick's Church History. Rev. William Henry Elton’s vision in 1899 to plant a church in Tawau was realized in 1917 by Rev. T. C. Alexander from Sandakan. In April 1927, Rev. Vun Nen Vun became the first Rector of St. Patrick’s Church and school.
