It was the first time, I heard a bank staff saying " I beg your pardon, but they're not enough to carry out an international money transfer . We need an IBAN". Overall consumer banking in Hong Kong is sh*t. Service is piss poor, offerings are piss poor, competition is piss poor. Its a case of finding out which bank is less shitty
Jun 6, 2016 · SC’s website has not been helpful in this regard, and I also can’t find Standard Chartered in the list of bill payment recipients in HSBC online banking. Thank you! Use PPS. Set up the account using your HSBC account; add the SC card to the PPS bills. SC credit cards is Merchant No. 21.

Nov 4, 2008 · Aug 2006. Posts. 7,575. SCB ATMS are part of the Jetco network in Hong Kong so there are plenty. Agree with above about queues. Much better with SCB. I think they have a HK$10 000 minimum balance for easy banking which reduces the numbers using their service.

But these days Mox is trying hard, under the higher interest rate environment, to earn spreads from deposit versus interbank. HKMA appeared to be shoving the requirement down everyone's throat to 'verify' email address.

Feb 25, 2019 · Additionally, there is benefit of depositing in USD vs HKD. USD have to deposit 100K. HKD is 1MM. Thanks. Yes, I also wonder what these types of savings do to the value of Asia Miles longer term. Actual new funds deposits get say 2% for sake argument. 100K USD will get you USD $2K (say HK$ 15K) in cash over a year.
