One option is to allow your child to explore all videos on YouTube Kids. Parents can choose between 3 age-based content settings: Preschool (Ages 4 & under) Younger (Ages 5—8) Older (Ages 9—12) Our automated systems select content from the broader universe of videos on YouTube. We work hard to exclude content that’s not suitable for kids.
YouTube Kids. The official YouTube Kids app is designed for curious little minds. This app is delightfully simple and packed full of age-appropriate videos, channels, and playlists. YouTube Kids features popular children’s programming, plus kid-friendly content from filmmakers, teachers, and creators all around the world.
Content settings. There are 3 content settings available in the app: Preschool, Younger, and Older. The content your child will see is based on the setting you choose when you set up YouTube Kids for your child. Preschool. Designed with kids 4 and under in mind. Younger. Designed with kids ages 5–8 in mind.
In YouTube Kids on your child's device, or. In your linked parent account's Family Center. Select if you want to turn Search on or off. You’ll now take a parent feature tour of the YouTube Kids app. The tour will help you find parental controls settings, how to block and report videos, and how to view what your child has watched.
To view parental controls and settings for YouTube Kids profiles from your YouTube settings: Sign in to YouTube with your linked parent account. Click your profile picture . Select Settings . Scroll down to Family Center and click Manage kids profiles and features for teens. Use the Family Link app.
Change YouTube Kids settings. On your device, open Family Link. Select your child. On the "Settings" card, tap Manage settingsMoreYouTube Kids. Tip: You won't find "YouTube Kids" if you haven't set up the app. Under "YouTube Kids Settings," you can: Tap Edit to update content level settings. Turn Search on or off.
Click your profile picture . Click Settings . Scroll down to Family Center and click Manage kids profiles and features for teens. Select your pre-teen. Under GENERAL SETTINGS, click Unblock videos. A pop-up may surface alerting you that all content you’ve blocked in YouTube and YouTube Kids will be unblocked.
With the Family Link app. To go to this setting directly in the app, tap the button below: Set up YouTube controls. On your device, open the Family Link app . Select your child. Tap Controls Content restrictions YouTube. Under “YouTube Kids Settings,” you can: Update content level settings. Turn Search on or off.
