The Gombak District is an administrative district located in the state of Selangor, Malaysia. The district was created on February 1, 1974, the same day when Kuala Lumpur was declared a Federal Territory. Until 1997, Rawang was the district capital; the capital has been moved to Bandar Baru Selayang.

Covering 65,008 hectares, Gombak is the third smallest district in Selangor with hilly terrains in the east, north and west, while the central region is mainly lowlands. The main rivers flowing through are Sungai Gombak, Sungai Klang, and Sungai Batu.

Spanning over 112,955 hectares, the Gombak – Hulu Langat Geopark includes Gombak District and Hulu Langat District. The Gombak District Administration, which has its headquarters in the Gombak District and Land Office, is responsible for two Local Authorities: the Selayang Municipal Council and the Ampang Jaya Municipal Council.
Established in 1987, Gombak’s Muzium Orang Asli aims to preserve the cultural heritage of the indigenous Orang Asli people, including the famed Mah Meri of Pulau Carey. Located within the boundaries of Selangor State Park, the museum consists of exhibition galleries, a mini theater hall, library and souvenir shop.
