The Jim Thompson House is a museum in central Bangkok, Thailand, housing the art collection of American businessman and architect James Harrison Wilson Thompson or simply Jim Thompson, the museum designer and former owner.

Jim Thompson built his house in 1958-59 on a plot of land across the canal, or klong in Thaï, from the Bahn Krua silk weaving community. For his new home, Thompson acquired several Thai houses some of which were dismantled and sent down the Chao Phraya River to Bangkok where they were reassembled.

Apr 4, 2024 · Jim Thompson House is a short (albeit sweaty) stroll from Siam Square and just minutes from BTS National Stadium. It’s at the very end of Soi Kasem San 2 on the left. Despite the sign, most people have difficulty locating it.
The Jim Thompson House Museum makes for an interesting visit not only for its fascinating architecture, harnessing some of the greatest features of Thai building, and the traditional art and silks exhibited inside, but also because of the mysterious fate of its eponymous former resident.
