The Poisons Act 1952 [Act 366], which is referred to as the “principal Act” in this Act, is amended in subsection 2(1)— (a) by substituting for the definition of “animal treatment” the following definition:

The Act defines various substances as poisons, and addresses the importation, possesion, manufacture, compounding, storage, transport, sale, packaging, labelling and use of poisons. There shall be established an advisory board, the Poisons Board.
On July 21, 2022, Malaysia’s Parliament passed the Poisons (Amendment) Bill 2022 unanimously, three years after the amendment was tabled in 2019. The Poisons Act 1952 regulates the import, possession, manufacture, compounding, storage, transportation, sale, and use of poisons in Malaysia.
The-Poisons Act 1952 (Act 366) is the main Act that controls the sale and supply of poison, hence, all transactions that involve poison must be carried out in accordance with the Act.
