As of early 2015, Google Earth Pro, which used to be a $400 product, is now free. This is a powerful yet simple tool for viewing information geographically—whether it is viewing climate information, analysing change over time, seeing the world the same way you’re used to seeing, or remembering routes taken while on vacation.
Be sure to click the "Download Earth Pro on desktop" button in the middle of the screen. Do not click the blue “Launch Earth” button, this is for the web version. Once Google Earth Pro is installed you will find it in the Windows start menu or the Mac Applications folder.
