Jul 18, 2018 · Yahoo Messenger, the pioneering messaging app that changed the way users communicated over the Internet, is now officially dead. To recall, California-based company Yahoo announced last month that it would be killing off Yahoo Messenger. Users can now no longer access chats in-app, and the service will no longer work.
The "Message Archive" window can also be opened at any time from the main Yahoo! Messenger window by opening the Contacts menu and clicking Message Archive. You have to enable the chat history in the Connection Preferences.
Yahoo Messenger! saves your chat history in a log file by default. Although it is encrypted, it can be easily decrypted and display the archive messages. Here is how to directly view the conversation without running the program.
