I think the cryptography used in Outlook 2003 to support saving email account passwords is not compatible with W8/8.1/10 so you would have to constantly enter your password to check email.
May 2, 2024 · I still use PowerPoint 2003 to manage my website and have misplaced the updates. I installed on my Windows 11 computer but wanted to have whatever updates Microsoft had provided previously. I have annually contributed to the Internet Archive for years and encourage others to do the same.
May 10, 2016 · Here's how: Press Windows Key + R to open the Run box. In the box, type or paste this string: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\OFFICE11\WINWORD.EXE" /r. and press Enter. Word will not start, but you will get a message box: When the "configuration" is complete, you should be back in business.

There are no FREE copies of Word available. Moreover, Office 2003 and Word 2003 have not been current for many years. Office 2007 is current and Office 2010 will be available shortly. If it's all of the old documents, go to File > Options > Trust Center > Trust Center Settings > File Block Settings. If there are check marks in the rows for "Word 2003 Binary Documents and Templates" and/or "Word 2007 Binary Documents and Templates", clear those boxes, restart Word, and try opening the documents.
