Hammersmith is a district of West London, England, 4.3 miles (6.9 km) southwest of Charing Cross. It is the administrative centre of the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham, and identified in the London Plan as one of 35 major centres in Greater London.

Look around and you’ll also discover several ‘villages’ in and around Hammersmith, with top dining and historic pubs.
When we first moved to London, we stayed with friends in Hammersmith. It's a lovely area with all of the main supermarkets, coffee shops and some decent restaurants. The tube station there is great too as you can get just about anywhere in London just from the one station.
