Von Arnim’s former manor house – Schloss Criewen – was recently renovated and now houses the Brandenburgische Akademie Schloss Criewen.
The former Criewen estate is home to the National Park Centre of Germany’s only floodplain national park. The exhibition provides information on the natural world of the Lower Oder Valley in a way that is easy to understand.
Between 1816 and 1826, on the initiative of the landowner Arnim in Criewen, the old village was torn down and rebuilt further to the east. This created space for his landscape park to be built according to plans by the landscape architect Peter Joseph Lenné.
