Tucked away in a forested valley several kilometres north east of Noojee this picture-perfect waterfall is a wonderful place for people of all ages to experience one of nature’s most soothing creations. From the car park a loop track through Mountain Grey Gum Forest leads to viewing platforms of Toorongo and Ampitheatre falls.
Toorongo Falls may just be heaven on earth, with sumptuous views of the water cascading over the tiered rocks below. Get out the selfie stick with photo opportunities all along the river, with moss-covered rocks and tree ferns as the majestic background.
Tooronga is a residential locality 8 km south-east of Melbourne situated on both sides of the Gardiners Creek valley in Hawthorn and Malvern. It was named after a two-storeyed house built by a Colonel Ward.

An impressive, tiered waterfall, Toorongo Falls is surrounded by towering gums and lush ferns in the Toorongo Falls Reserve. Take the 750-metre, mostly uphill track to the viewing platform to watch the water tumble over the rocky cliff face into the valley below.
